Day by day
- Day 1Arrive at Bandaranaike Airport and drive to the Sigiriya area.
- Day 2Climb Sigiriya Rock in the morning. Afternoon at the Dambulla cave temples.
- Day 3Cycle or drive around the ancient city of Polonnaruwa.
- Day 4Drive to Kandy via a spice garden. Evening visit to the Temple of the Tooth.
- Day 5Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya, then drive to Nuwara Eliya and visit a tea factory.
- Day 6Train from Nanu Oya to Ella through the tea estates. Walk to the Nine Arch Bridge.
- Day 7Drive to Yala for an afternoon jeep safari to look for leopard, elephant and sloth bear.
- Day 8Drive along the coast to Galle. Walk the ramparts and streets of Galle Fort.
- Day 9Drive to the airport for departure, about three hours.
