A six-day hut-to-hut loop through the Rwenzori, crossing the Scott Elliot and Freshfield passes with guides and porters; Margherita Peak is an add-on.

Day by day

  1. Day 1Drive from Kampala to Kasese.
  2. Day 2Trek from Nyakalengija to Nyabitaba hut.
  3. Day 3Climb through bamboo and heather forest to John Matte hut.
  4. Day 4Cross the Bigo bogs to Bujuku hut, below Mount Speke and Mount Stanley.
  5. Day 5Over Scott Elliot Pass to the Kitandara lakes.
  6. Day 6Over Freshfield Pass and down to Guy Yeoman hut.
  7. Day 7Descend via Nyabitaba to Nyakalengija and drive to Kasese.
  8. Day 8Drive back to Kampala.
